SOUND-S-RK

2nd presentation poster

After creating a certain typography in the previous Etude(#1), as a representation of sound, I’ve decided to develop a second phase of transforming the chosen typography into a solid three dimensional element.
Based on a scale of disturbance (It started with a sound which is extremely unpleasing to hear, evolved into a word which it’s typography not very likeable to the eye and now a solid with a topography not so smooth to touch).
Noise or sounde can exist only when one knows what silence is, the same happens with the sense of touch; one must be familiar with a smooth straight surfac to acknowledge the bumps and holes of a different surface. Based on this and my scale of disturbance I’ve created a three dimensional shape, embeded with the typography from the previous Etude and deformed it’s surface.
Slicing the solid into seven equal pieces (according to new seven categories I defined) gave me the idea of typography as an influence on topography; each definition is represented by a “slice of the shape, rating the “disturbance” of the typography by the touch of topography.
